2023 TOYOTA SEQUOIAToyota’s latest Sequoia has been on the market for 14 years. The manufacturer opted to purchase a fresh generation of the product after milking it to the last drop. The new Toyota Sequoia for 2023 has been unveiled, and it looks considerably different from the previous model. The 2023 Sequoia is built on the same basis as other new vehicles, but it has a different engine under the hood. The full-size SUV now has a redesigned interior with current technology, as well as a new flagship model. Is the 2023 Sequoia capable of bringing in more volume in the future?

The Toyota Sequoia 2023 is built on the same TNGA-F platform as the new Tundra, Lexus LX, and the Land Cruiser 300, which is considered a forbidden fruit in the United States. Its design is definitely influenced by the new Tundra. The seven-seater appears to be a lot crisper and less uninteresting than it was previously. Up front, you receive a new pair of headlights. This time around, the grille has also grown in size. Now the side profile is sculpted. There are also some chrome accents, such as on the door handles, bottom strip, and even the window sill. Depending on the model level, it comes with different wheels and tires (more on the trims explained in the next section). With the wide horizontal taillights that slant to the side of the SUV, the rear also appears rather sophisticated. Despite its bulk, Toyota’s clever design ensures that it does not appear to be a flat wall. The name ‘Sequoia’ is written in large letters across the middle of the number plate. Overall, the SUV appears to be in pace with current offers and will remain fashionable for many years.

The cabin of the 2023 Sequoia is a significant upgrade over the previous generation. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster sits behind the four-spoke hefty steering wheel. This comes as standard on all trims. On higher trims, the center console houses a 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen system, while cheaper versions come standard with an eight-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported by the infotainment system. When you say “Hey Toyota,” Toyota’s voice assistance system will activate.Of course, features vary by trim, but top-tier trims like Platinum include heated and ventilated seats, second-row captain’s chairs, 14-speaker JBL audio system, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, head-up display, rain-sensing wipers, and more. Because the top-spec Capstone trim is based on the Platinum, expect all of these features, plus a few extras to set it apart from the Platinum.

Aside from that, Toyota has redesigned the seating and cargo layout. The 2023 Sequoia is available in either a seven-seater or an eight-seater configuration. The second-row bench seat is standard on the base trims, while captain’s chairs are standard on the top trims. Fabric seats are standard on lower levels, while leather upholstery is standard on higher trims. Toyota has also made some changes to the third-row bench. It may now slide up to six inches, making it more comfortable for passengers in the last row. On longer trips, they won’t curse you for cramming them into a fairly cramped corner of the SUV. The seats can also be folded down to make room for an adjustable cargo shelf.

2023 TOYOTA SEQUOIA Powertrain

The 5.7-liter V-8 engine in the current Toyota Sequoia produces 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. The V-8 has been replaced with a new V-6, as seen on the new Tundra, Land Cruiser 300, and Lexus LX. The Sequoia, unlike the Tundra, does not get several versions of the same mill. It’ll be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The main rationale for switching from a V-8 to a V-6 is to reduce emissions and improve fuel economy. Toyota hasn’t disclosed the fuel economy stats yet, but they should be far better than the V-8’s pitiful numbers. For every gallon of fuel consumed, the contemporary Sequoia with a V-8 delivers 13 miles in the city, 17 miles on the highway, and 15 miles combined.
